It’s hard to believe we’re in November. This month is going to be a difficult one for many. We have an election in a few days that has already been divisive. This month, in the USA, we also celebrate Thanksgiving. This year, due to coronavirus, we may celebrate with fewer friends and family around the table. It’s also just darker this time of year for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.
So, while that may all seem like a downer, we know this month is the perfect time to talk about identity and belonging. We were made as image bearers of God, and therefore, we were made for community—with Him and with one another. We belong to Him. We belong together.
This month, we’ll read stories of who we are in Christ, as well as stories of friendship, of belonging, of the hope we have as beloved children of God. We pray that, no matter what your November looks like, you know that you are loved. You belong.
