This summer, we asked women to share with us about one verse from Scripture and how it has impacted their journey. We’ll be posting some of their answers here on the blog. We pray you’ll be encouraged in your own journey as you read about those of others.
This testimony is from Sara in Vancleave, MS.
They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.Psalm 112:7
As a foster mom for the past four years and a veteran EMT, “bad news” is a familiar thing in my life. For many years I suffered with crushing anxiety until we faced an extreme situation in our foster care journey. The situation could have caused us to lose the baby we’d had for almost two years, since his birth. Truth prevailed, and while the situation was still a hard thing, our baby was kept safe. It was through those dark days of worrying that I began to realize how it wasn’t my anxiety keeping us safe time and time again, and this Scripture has become a reminder to faithfully trust His grace and mercy. The bad news still comes, but when it does we know that the Lord has always taken care of us, and He always will.
