This summer, we asked women to share with us about one verse from Scripture and how it has impacted their journey. We’ll be posting some of their answers here on the blog. We pray you’ll be encouraged in your own journey as you read about those of others.
This testimony is from Leslie in Madison, MS.
Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men.
Colossians 3:23
Healthcare can be a difficult place to shine for Christ. I’m a pharmacist and I spend a lot of time buried in the details, making sure everything is done right for my patients in the ICU. I truly feel called to my profession and I know this was His plan all along. However, it is hard to see Jesus when you are trying to fight for the life of your patient. This verse gets me through the hard days – the disagreements, the chest compressions, the disappointments to families, the deaths. It is a reminder that I accepted a call to protect those who cannot protect themselves by being thorough and attentive. A reminder to pray in the quiet of a patient’s room for healing, whether it is body or spirit. A reminder that I AM HIS.
