Today our guest blogger is pastor’s wife and speaker Cindy Beall. Maybe you need to be reminded to be the “CRO” of your life. Read on to find out why …
“People need to be reminded more often than they need to be instructed.” — Samuel Johnson
Gurl, ain’t that the truth.
I dare say that when we listen to a message or hear a podcast or attend a conference, we don’t learn all new things. Some things may be new, but most things are ideas that we’ve forgotten. Which means we need to be reminded.
I recently had the privilege of hearing Patrick Lencioni speak when he came to LifeChurch.tv‘s annual staff Family Reunion event. Ladies: He did not disappoint — at all. During his talk, I was reminded of a lot of things but one thing stuck out to me that I really needed to hear. He said we are to be CROs in our lives: Chief Reminding Officers.
Gurl, ain’t that the truth.
As you minister to women in your church or your organization, not only do you need to remember the truths and promises of God for victorious living, you have to remind others of it, too. Whether they are struggling in their marriage, raising children, dealing with difficult staff members, or having a challenge in their jobs outside the church, it’s the honor of the calling on your life. It’s the privilege of your position as a pastor’s wife or a woman in a ministry position. It is not always easy to walk in that responsibility, but rest assured, God has got your back. And your steps. And your heart. Heck, He’s got all of you.
So as you move forward today, I would like to take this opportunity to pour into you and remind you of some things as you minister to a broken and hurting world.
We need reminding today that God is for us and not against us…that He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us…that He comforts us and is near to the brokenhearted…that all things work for the good of those who love Him…that He has not only forgiven your sin but has removed it as far as the east is from the west…that we will reap a harvest of righteousness if we do not give up…that He will give us rest when we come to Him…that victory is ours through Christ…that nothing can separate us from the love of God…that He will supply all our needs…that the same power that raised Christ from the grave lives in us and not only that, but is available to us every single day of our lives!
Gurl, ain’t that the truth.
Now, go remind someone of these things today. We all need them so desperately.
