If you’re anything like us, you may find yourself excited for holidays and all of the sweet celebration they bring, but they often sneak up on you. In fact, with a holiday like Easter, it can be hard for the gravity of Christ’s death and resurrection to really sink in over the Easter weekend!
That’s why our team created a 14-day guided Easter prayer journey to help you prepare your heart for the celebration of Easter Sunday and remember Christ’s love for us in the days that follow.
This prayer guide can be started at anytime however it was written with the intention of starting on April 11 allowing day 5 to fall on Good Friday and Day 7 to fall on Easter Sunday with days 8-14 following Holy Week.

Days 1-7: Christ’s Humility and Exaltation
The first half of this prayer guide focuses on Christ, His humility and exaltation, centering on Philippians 2:2-11.
Day 1 – Read Philippians 2:5
Response: Find Scriptures that reflect the attitudes of Christ. (Example: Matthew 20:28)
Pray today praising the Lord for the attitudes of Christ. Ask the Lord to help your daily attitudes reflect those of Christ.
Day 2 – Read Philippians 2:6
Response: Find Scriptures that reflect the humility of Christ. (Example: John 6:38)
Praise the Lord today for the humility of Christ. Ask the Lord to help you adopt that same humility in your daily walk.
Day 3 – Read Philippians 2:7
Response: Find Scriptures that reflect the humanity of Christ as the Son of Man. (Example: 2 Corinthians 8:9)
Pray today praising Jesus for taking on the likeness of man and giving His life for our sins.
Day 4 – Read Philippians 2:8
Response: Find Scriptures that reflect the obedience of Christ. (Example: Matthew 26:39)
Pray today thanking the Lord for the obedience of Christ even to the point of death on the cross.
Day 5 (Good Friday) – Read Philippians 2:9
Response: Find Scriptures that celebrate the Divine Nature of Christ. (Example: John 10:38)
Pray today exalting God, thank Him for loving you and offering salvation. Take time today to reflect on the meaning of Good Friday. Praise the Lord that He sent His one and only Son to die for our sins on the cross.
Day 6 – Read Philippians 2:10
Response: Find Scriptures that highlight the names of Christ. (Example: Luke 9:35)
As the hope of Easter rises, may Jesus’s resurrection affect how you live. Express your gratitude to God by pointing others to Jesus. Praise the Lord that He sent His one and only Son to die for our sins on the cross.
Day 7 (Easter Sunday) – Read Philippians 2:11
Response: Find Scriptures that reflect our call to tell the truth of who Christ is. (Example: Psalm 96:1-3)
Take time today to praise God for having power over life and death. Pray for those around you who do not know the truth of Christ or understand the meaning of His resurrection. Ask God to pursue their hearts so they may know Jesus in a personal relationship.
Days 8-14 | We Are Lights in the World
The second half of this prayer guide focuses on who we are in Christ, centering on Philippians 2:12-18.
Day 8 – Read Philippians 2:12
Reflection: Our obedience to following Christ shows the fruit of our salvation (cooperating with God’s plan). How will you take the next step into God’s call to obedience?
Day 9 – Read Philippians 2:13
Reflection: How are you allowing God to work through you for His purposes? Do you trust that God will bring about His good purposes for your life?
Day 10 – Read Philippians 2:14
Reflection: How are you replacing your grumblings with thanksgiving? Change your focus to the things of Christ.
Day 11 – Read Philippians 2:15
Reflection: How are you allowing the Lord to set you apart from the world? Consider memorizing Matthew 5:14-16.
Day 12 – Read Philippians 2:16
Reflection: How are you letting the Word take hold of your heart so you know how to run?
Day 13 – Read Philippians 2:17
Reflection: How do you find joy in the midst of suffering and trials? Ask the Lord to fill you back up. Are you reserving parts of yourself rather than serving sacrificially? Ask the Lord to help you to trust Him to keep you fulfilled so you can pour into the lives of others.
Day 14 – Read Philippians 2:18
Reflection: Take time today to be glad and rejoice. Reread Philippians 2:5-11 and rejoice in who God is.
