Easter is coming! We’re excited to celebrate our risen Savior on Easter Sunday. One way we’ll celebrate is by teaching our children what Easter is all about. We love to read age-appropriate books with our kids that help introduce the concepts of the Easter story—the sacrifice, the love of our God, and new life.
These children’s books are a great choice to read together all year long:
The Marvelous Maker is a creation redemption parable that tells the story of creation, fall, sacrifice, and redemption. This rhyming retelling uncovers how the Maker fabulously creates a universe for His glory and for His children to enjoy. Everything is perfect and good until the Tricky Tempter enters the scene and tempts the Maker’s children, which brings a horrible darkness to creation and allows the Tempter to take the children captive. The Maker sees His children’s hardened hearts and their suffering and chooses to rescue them despite the cost. He sacrifices His life to bring healing to His children.
You might think of the first Easter as a quiet, peaceful morning. But with all creation celebrating the risen Lord of Lords, it may not have been so quiet! The Quiet Crazy Easter Day imagines the crazy celebration that might have occurred when Jesus arose . . . a festive day filled with chirps and croaks, shouts and coos and loop-de-doos. Join the rejoicing as we follow along with the Easter story and learn how we too can shout and sing and spread the news that Jesus is alive.
Amid the hustle and bustle of springtime chores and storefront bunnies, focusing your children on the true meaning of Easter can be a challenge. But this forty-day devotional brings the family together and shows them the way to the Savior instead.
Filled with discussion questions, easy family activities, and prayers, this collection of devotions can become a family keepsake, bringing your family together to celebrate the Easter season and the way to the Savior year after year.
Join these adorable animal pairs in a board book that’s meant for little hands to hold and explore. Each spread features a large animal and his little friend—hiding under the flap—who are enjoying all the wonders of Easter time together. Discover different animal sounds under each flap to make the reading even more fun!
The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross Board Book
Using simple sentences and stunning illustrations, The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross board book takes the truths of The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross and makes them accessible for very young children.
Journeying from the Garden of Eden to God’s future new creation, kids will learn why Jesus died and rose again and be invited to say, “Thank you, King Jesus. You’re amazing!”
Using colorful, engaging artwork, Holy Week introduces little ones to a wide range of emotions as they follow Jesus through the final week of His life. Children will delight in the beautiful illustrations and learn about basic emotions, such as joy, anger, sadness, fear, and more. And they will become familiar with one of the final chapters in Jesus’s story here on earth.
Mommy and her little ones are settling in for story time, and this time it’s the biblical story of Easter that she’s telling. As the youngsters hear God’s tale unfold with its sometimes somber notes about sin and death, they are softly and continually reminded, “But Easter is coming!” By the end of the book, the anticipation has built and the children can celebrate the ending and the glory of Easter Sunday.
