Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to make a Bible study? We’re giving you an inside look! Today, we’re going behind the scenes of The Names of God Bible study taping. This new Bible study by Kristi McLelland, Caroline Saunders, Blair Linne, Jennifer Rothschild, Kelly Minter, and Elizabeth Woodson comes out on August 3, 2026.
We captured the teaching sessions for The Names of God Bible study on August 1–2, 2025, at Journey Church in Lebanon, Tennessee. Approximately 600 women attended the taping, which featured special worship music from Lindsay McCaul to kick off the event. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the room filled with women worshiping before the teaching began:
Kristi McLelland opened Friday evening’s teaching on the Name Above All Names. She gave an overview of the grand story of Scripture with her trademark historical and cultural insight. Kristi also brought up a young attendee who had written her a letter to encourage her in her walk with Christ.

Next, we hosted a panel conversation with all of the teachers about the power and intimacy of God’s names. As they came together to share what changed them as they studied God’s names, they shared how much they enjoyed working on this study together as a team. They discussed their own nicknames, as well as what name they each use for God when they’re in prayer for Him.

Take a look at this panel conversation in the video below!
Caroline Saunders closed out the teaching for Friday evening with a walk through the names of God in Genesis. Get a sneak peek of her teaching with this clip!
Blair Linne opened the teaching on Saturday morning. She taught on God’s name as “Father” and His work in the book of Exodus. Blair also shared a powerful spoken word on the names of God:
Jennifer Rothschild explored God’s names in Psalm 46, sharing how the Lord of Hosts is with us. She shared several scenes she asked listeners to picture, including the sons of Korah writing a song, the disciples sailing with Jesus in a boat, a prophet poised with his pen, and “you” in this moment. Being in God’s presence for us—and for those we pictured—is not just discipline or duty, but it can be a delight to be with the Lord of Hosts.

Kelly Minter taught on the name of Jesus as we looked at the names of God in the New Testament. Through sharing a deeply personal story of her recent journey with foster care, she taught that trusting Jesus as Lord brings hope, healing, and deep transformation.

Elizabeth Woodson taught on the names and work of the Holy Spirit. She spoke about how the very Spirit of God indwells us, gives us life, guides us in truth, and empowers us to live boldly for Christ. She encouraged us to embrace the Spirit’s presence and walk in the fullness of God’s power and purpose.

In the final session of the study, Kristi McLelland returned with an invitation to move beyond knowing God’s names to living them out. She challenged us to carry God’s reputation with honor, embody His generosity, and bring hope into a hurting world.
