We are looking forward to the Prepare Him Room Virtual Event with Kelly Minter! We asked Kelly some fun questions about this special Christmas event. Read her answers below!
What are you looking forward to about Prepare Him Room Virtual Event?
First of all, I love Christmas! Some of my favorite events of the year are the ones I get to teach about Jesus’s birth and its surroundings. There’s so much to the story, and since we tend to focus on the birth narratives in Matthew and Luke only once per year, we can easily miss the stories around the story of Jesus. So I’m thrilled to be able to reach as many churches as possible with one of my very favorite types of events.
Can you give us a short teaser of what you will be teaching on?
Christmastime is all about expectations. Feel-good movies about Christmas miracles, the perfect presents advertised at the malls, the holiday experiences we think we must have for Christmas to truly be Christmas. The standards are impossibly high, and we’re often left disappointed. Christmas doesn’t have to be this way. Mary and Elizabeth both remind us of the pure joy and satisfaction that surrounded the first Christmas, precisely because both of their lives were wrapped up with what God was doing in the Person of Jesus. We’ll look at the stores of these two women in depth and practically apply what we learn to our own Christmas season. One teaser—we’ll learn that blessing others is one of the secrets to joy, especially in December.
How did you choose Lindsay McCaul to lead worship?
First of all, Lindsay’s voice is one of the most textured and moving to listen to. She is a true worshipper, and you get that from her immediately. But secondly, she is one of the most humble people I know. A true lover of people, servant hearted, and one of those people you love to be around. If you don’t already know her music, you are going to love singing all the Christmas favorites with her.
What do you hope women will take away from watching?
My prayer is that women will reset their focus on Jesus during one of the busiest and consumer-driven times of the year. I want women to bask in the presence of Jesus, be reminded of the inestimable treasures we have in Him, and practically live that out that Christmas good news in a way that is different than how we’ve done it before. Joy, peace, love, hope—I hope we get these in a season where they can oddly get lost.

The Prepare Him Room virtual event is an invitation to intentionally make space to seek Jesus amid the holiday rush.
Throughout the event, you’ll be immersed in an atmosphere of worship, encouragement, and teaching that will inspire you to create room in your heart, home, and community for the transformative power of Jesus Christ. Join us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, embrace the true meaning of Christmas, and prepare Him room.
