Lilly serves as the Associate Professor of Biblical Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has contributed to Trained in the Fear of God as well as other books and journals. Prior to biblical counseling, she worked as an organizational consultant in the Washington, D.C. area.
For those seeking council:
Our advice would be to talk with your pastor or your church leaders. They will be able to pray with you and point you to any resources in your area for you and your family. We recommend programs like Celebrate Recovery and websites like aacc.net, aapc.org, and biblicalcounseling.com to find a counselor in your area. Focus on the Family also has a help center you can call or contact via their website family.org.
