Earlier this week, we shared an inside look at Kelly Minter’s new Bible study, Encountering God: Cultivating Habits of Faith Through the Spiritual Disciplines. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ll be hosting an online Bible study experience through Encountering God this January! We can’t wait to kick off the new year with you (and Kelly Minter!) as we dive into spiritual disciplines like prayer, study, worship, rest, simplicity, generosity, celebration, and more.
This will be different from our typical online Bible study for a few reasons, so here’s how this will work! (If you still have questions after reading this post, check out these FAQs.)
For the Encountering God online Bible study experience, we’ll be offering $24.99 bundles that come with:
- Bible study book or eBook (your choice!);
- Teaching video access, released weekly starting January 13;
- Online community discussions with women around the world;

Already preordered your Bible study book? Don’t worry! We’re also offering an option to only purchase online video access for $9.99.
With the holidays quickly approaching, you can also give the Encountering God online Bible experience to your friends, family, or small group besties! You can give the Physical Book + Video or Video Only options. (The eBook + video option is not available for gifting.) We’re so excited to be able to study the spiritual disciplines with you, Kelly Minter, and thousands of other women in 2022. We’re already praying that the message of Encountering God encourages and challenges us in the new year!

Here are the rest of the details you’ll need to participate in this study:
- Encountering God is 7 weeks long, and you can plan for the videos to be 28–40 minutes long, with a shorter introduction session.
- We’ll post a new video session on women.lifeway.com/encounteringgod on Thursdays at midnight CT (barring any technical difficulties). Once you log in, you will see the available sessions.
- For the first week, you’ll watch the Session One video, which will serve as our introduction to the study. Then, you’ll complete the Session Two personal study material in the Bible study book before we meet again!
- Go to your email and add “churchresources@email1.lifeway.com” to your contacts. This way, our emails are less likely to go to your spam folder.
- Videos will be available until July 31, 2022 (11:59 PM CT), allowing some breathing room for those who join in late or miss a couple of weeks.
- The Encountering God online Bible study experience will be available to purchase until March 1, 2022.
