We had an amazing time at the Going Beyond Simulcast this year! We had over 60,000 women join us from all over the world for Bible study, worship, and prayer.
We kicked off the day with worship led by Anthony Evans. It’s always powerful to start the morning by lifting high the name of Jesus!
Next up, Priscilla Shirer took the stage and led attendees through part one of the group prayer experience. Whether joining us live or virtually, women wrote down requests and spent time bringing them before God in prayer.
After worshiping God and coming to Him in prayer, we opened up our Bibles to 2 Peter 1:12-15:
“Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have. I think it is right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder, since I know that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has indeed made clear to me. And I will also make every effort so that you are able to recall these things at any time after my departure.”
“What we are reminded of shapes the course of our life.” —Priscilla Shirer
Priscilla spoke on the importance of being reminded of truths foundational to our faith, emphasizing the qualities of our faith found in 2 Peter 1. Being reminded of these foundational truths “wakes us up” and allows us to discern the truth of God amid culture’s mixed messages about who He is.
Minnie’s Food Pantry, one of our nonprofit partners for this event, joined us to share about their work providing healthy meals and educational resources to create long-term food security for the people they serve. They have raised over $100,000 so far thanks to the generosity of Going Beyond Simulcast attendees!
We then participated in part two of the group prayer experience, in which women who had seen prayers answered about finances, infertility, diseases, and so much more were asked to stand (virtually or physically). Next, women who were still waiting on answered prayers in those areas were asked to raise their hands. Women who were standing prayed over women with raised hands. It was a powerful time to pray for one another and see the testimonies of answered prayers all over the world! The comment section in the virtual attendee chat was filled with women praying for one another and praising God for what He had done and was yet to do.
We were then joined by a special guest, Katherine Wolf!
“We cannot control what happens to us in life, but what we have complete control over is how we respond to it and think about it.” —Katherine Wolf
Katherine shared her story of finding hope and joy in Christ through hardship. She reminded us that life with Christ is “the good life” regardless of our circumstances.
We wrapped up the day with a final word from Priscilla about our responsibility to nurture the divine nature of God in us to grow spiritually. We were reminded that salvation is freely given, but it requires participation and effort to mature.
It was an incredible day of teaching, worship, and prayer that will continue to challenge and encourage us all long after the event.
