We got to talk with Elizabeth Uriyo, Senior Vice President of Global Leadership at Compassion International. We heard her story, the work Compassion is doing around the world, and how we can help. Elizabeth also gave us a few ways we can be praying for the ministry of Compassion during the pandemic. She shared advice on leadership and work, as well.
About Elizabeth Uriyo
Elizabeth Uriyo, Ph.D. is a tenacious technical & business leader with a strong record for leading the timely delivery of relevant solutions to customer and consumer needs. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Global Leadership at Compassion International where she provides day-to-day leadership and management in addition to strategic vision.
Prior to joining Compassion, Elizabeth worked in the food industry for 20 years where she held positions of increasing responsibility in R&D leading basic and applied research to inform product and process innovation, renovation and cost optimization. Elizabeth devotes her life to identify opportunities to build human capacity in Tanzania; based on potential not history, by investing in the development of people and of Small and Medium Enterprises.
Elizabeth completed her Ph.D. in Grain Science and Industry (Food Science) in 1996 from Kansas State University and a MBA in 2010 from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
