Each month, you’ll hear from one of us on what we’re reading and a little bit about the book. Enjoy!
Easter is coming! We’re excited to celebrate our risen Savior on Easter Sunday. One way we’ll celebrate is by teaching our children what Easter is all about. We love to read age-appropriate books with our kids that help introduce the concepts of the Easter story—the sacrifice, the love of our God, and new life. We’ll tuck one or two of these in our kids’ Easter baskets and read them together all year long.
Here are a few of our favorites.
We love these board books for the littlest bookworms. They introduce words about Jesus and Easter, creating a vocabulary we all hope our toddlers will grow to love more and more throughout their lives. Purchase the Jesus board book here and the Easter board book here or at your local Lifeway Store!
The Tale of the Three Trees has been written many times, and we love how each book with the story tells about Jesus’ birth, ministry, and death on the cross. This is a lovely book to add to your family’s collection. It reminds readers young and old that sometimes seemingly insignificant acts can have great eternal meaning.
This die-cut My Easter Basket book is sure to grab your little’s attention. Using the colors found in the Easter basket, this book points to the greater meaning of Easter on each page. Kids will learn the story of Easter and be reminded of its truth whenever they see the bright Easter colors in their baskets.
God Gave Us Easter is a sweet story for your little ones about God’s great love for His children. Papa Bear explains to his cub how Easter came about as they walk through beautiful scenic illustrations. We think your kids will love reading this one time and again (and you won’t mind it being the favorite!).
If you’re including a new Bible in your kids’ Easter basket, we recommend The CSB Big Picture Interactive Bible. This Bible brings familiar stories to life through colorful illustrations and interactive elements throughout. This is the perfect Bible for your younger elementary-aged child who is ready to graduate from their storybook Bible. It’s available in hardcover and leather binding.
For children of all ages, we recommend The Jesus Storybook Bible. This classic children’s book will be one to treasure forever, with beautiful illustrations and the story of Jesus woven throughout the entire story of the Bible. We recommend this for every child’s bookshelf!
