When the church recognizes that women need other women, the door is opened for exciting new ministries. One way to help women interact with other women is by providing group experiences. Small groups within the church can strengthen the individual woman as well as the corporate body of the church. Through groups, the needs of believers in the church and unbelievers in the community can be met.
When shared with a group, joys are multiplied and sorrows are divided. The blessings of group interaction among women are many. Don’t let the ladies of your church and community miss the blessing of personal relationships!
Personal Blessings
Personal blessings are abundant to those involved in women’s groups. A woman will experience limited growth personally and spiritually without interaction with other believers. When supported by members of a group, a Christian woman will flourish and be fruitful. Group meetings become a highlight of life, not just another calendar appointment.
Ministry Blessings
Churches with dynamic women’s ministries that provide small groups are most often growing churches. If the women’s groups are successful, then all other women’s events will be strengthened. Specific blessings such as genuine enthusiasm, numerical growth, diverse participation, and prospective members are the natural result of well-planned women’s groups. The blessings to individual women and the total women’s ministry are unlimited.
As you develop groups within your women’s ministry, seek God’s guidance, pray for wisdom, be sensitive to needs, recognize helpful resources, and start simply. You don’t have to do everything at once. The success of your women’s groups will become an investment in the spiritual growth of women in your church and community. The needs of women in your area can effectively be met in large part through the development of appropriate small groups. God bless your efforts to reach women for His glory!
