Dear Moms,
We see you out there, working so hard. You’re up in the dead of night with crying babes and 2 more in their beds who will wake you up in a few short hours. You’re organizing carpools to gymnastics and t-ball and art class all while keeping your children nourished, making sure their homework is done, and that they have washed their hands at least once that day. We know you’re balancing careers and marriage and motherhood and that it’s hard.
And we want you to know—we think you’re a rockstar.
When you have reached the end of your rope with children’s TV programs, when you think you cannot possibly have another conversation with a 3 year old about the benefits of green foods, and when you feel like you have done nothing but mess up all day long, we want you to keep these truths in mind:
1. You’re doing better than you think. Did you hear that? Read it again. One more time. Now let that truth sink in. Let go of that mommy guilt, rid your mind of the parenting-comparison war that is raging on social media, and remember—even when you don’t feel like it—you’re doing a great job. Pinky promise.
2. You’ve got the most important job of all. You’re nurturing little souls, raising kids up to be lovers of God and people, and you’re making a kingdom impact in your day-to-day work. We love what Gloria Furman says about the sanctity of the nitty-gritty of motherhood: “You’ve never wiped sweet potatoes off a mere mortal’s face.” Sweet Sister, keep that in mind next time you want to sob into the creamed corn!
3. You need to be encouraged and empowered to live out your calling as a mom. That’s why we have dotMOM. This two-day event is designed to encourage you in your parenting, empower you to keep on keeping on in the trenches of mothering, and to equip you to raise kids who know and love Christ.
At dotMOM, you’ll laugh, learn, and worship alongside hundreds of other moms as you hear from Lisa Harper, Angela Thomas-Pharr, Lisa-Jo Baker, Sophie Hudson, Dale and Jena Forehand, plus enjoy worship led by Laura Story.
Sweet Momma, we would love to have you join us! From moms of newborns to great-grandmothers, we want moms of all ages and stages to gather in Nashville September 23-24 to share wisdom, laughter, and fellowship. Learn more about dotMOM and register here.
