Today, Memorial Day, we remember and honor soldiers who have fought for our freedom throughout the years. If you are a veteran or active military member, thank you for your service to our country. If you are a family member of a veteran or active military member, thank you for your sacrifice. We are deeply grateful for you.
To honor our veterans, fallen soldiers, and active military members, today we want to highlight a few ministries working to serve veterans and their families. These organizations and networks are working to serve those who have served us, meeting our service members and their families in the hardest of places.
Cru Military is a caring community of individuals, churches and chaplains passionate about connecting the global military community to Jesus Christ. Men and women who are part of the Cru Military network throughout the world seek to build up the military community by meeting them at their greatest point of need.
Military Chaplains serve in a unique ministry role to our troops. The Adopt-a-Chaplain program allows you to support troops through praying for and communicating regularly with a chaplain, as well as sending care packages to chaplains to distribute to their troops. What a great hands-on way to encourage and support those deep in the trenches of ministering to heroes!
The Armed Services Ministry helps meet the critical spiritual needs of our nation’s military by providing customized, free ministry programs and Scripture resources to all of the men and women serving our country, as well as Veterans and family members. Additionally, the Military Bible Stick is a clever tool designed to make the Word of God accessible for men and women deployed overseas. The size of a pack of chewing gum, this audio version of the New Testament and selected Psalms for warriors allows servicemen and women with limited space to still easily access Scripture.
Serving family members of fallen soldiers, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) provides resources, networking, and support to those grieving the death of a loved one.
We are so thankful for the work of our military members and pray that today they and their families will feel honored for their sacrifice.
