Welcome to Session 5! I just want to take a moment to encourage you all. This week of personal study was one of the more challenging, and I loved getting to see you help each other wrestle through some of the questions and learn from each other. It is such an encouragement to see community at work as we learn together what it means to apply God’s Word appropriately, responsibly, permanently, and prayerfully. When we understand how to do that, we can truly see how the Bible is for us and for now. Thank you for continuing to study with us. Almost to the end!
If you have any questions about how this study works, we’ve answered most of them here.
Catching up? That’s okay! We’ll leave the videos up, so you can take your time.

A note about the videos
If you can’t participate right now, or if you miss a week, don’t worry. We will leave these posts up for you to do when you’re ready! You can find all the older ones using our Online Bible Studies tab at the top of the blog. Just click on it and then the Open Your Bible study.
Open Your Bible has optional video downloads available for purchase online (for group or individual use). These videos are not the same as the free videos available here on the blog. The videos for purchase are more like teaching videos and dive deeper into the topic of each session. They are the videos that go with the group time in the Bible study book. We recommend them if you want to dive deeper into Raechel and Amanda’s teaching on Scripture.
Now for Session 5!
Questions to answer in the comments
- What words do you think of when you hear the term “apply”? What positive or negative emotions does the word bring up for you?
- What are some of your favorite ways to memorize Scripture?
- What type of ground do you think best represents your relationship with God’s Word? Maybe you relate with more than one type of soil. Why do you think it is this way?
- Early bird or Night owl?
This week, complete Week 5: Abide in Truth in the Bible study book and we’ll meet back here next week to discuss!
