So let’s start with the definition of marriage. It is a covenant relationship between a man and a woman. In Ephesians 5:22-30, Paul addresses the wives first and then addresses the husbands. A picture of covenant love is Ephesians 5:25 where Paul writes, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.” Growing strong marital relationships should be a priority within the mission of the church. Marriage ministry should be an intentional part of the discipleship process that focuses on faith, fortifies relationships, and fosters service.
