We love what so many organizations around the world are doing to help spread the gospel and demonstrate Jesus’ love to others. We wanted to start spotlighting a few of the organizations we know and love here on our blog so you can learn about their work, as well.
By now, you have probably heard about the Syrian refugee crisis. Many are saying it is the worst humanitarian disaster of our time. There are millions of people displaced from their homes and seeking shelter, asylum, and help. Most of us have seen the heartbreaking statistics and pictures. We’ve heard the stories, but aren’t sure what to do.
World Relief is one of the many organizations helping with the crisis. They have long worked with refugees from all over the world, helping them resettle and sharing the love of Christ as they do so. Their work is not limited to refugees, though. They also help with child development, disaster response, and anti-trafficking work. But they are one of the organizations leading the way right now as we look to respond to our Syrian neighbors.
World Relief has several ways to help in this crisis, both for the church and the individual. They have listed ways you can pray, give, advocate, welcome, and mobilize to help in this time of crisis. One of the ways they have to help is to purchase backpacks for refugee children. This helps the kids as they start school in a new country and is an easy way for an individual to help.
There are many ways to help and organizations to support, but we wanted to spotlight World Relief this month because of their biblical approach and the tangible ways they are helping right now. If you are hearing stories about the Syrian refugee crisis and want to help, consider World Relief.
