Happy 3rd Birthday, She Reads Truth! We wanted to take a moment to celebrate with She Reads Truth because we love them and are so excited to partner with them!
If you’re not familiar with She Reads Truth, they started as a handful of women passionate about God’s Word. The SRT community has grown to hundreds of thousands of women, all passionate about one simple, unwavering mission: Women in the Word of God everyday.
Not only is today their birthday, but it also marks the launch of the SRT summer reading plan, Women in the Word!
Women in the Word is a 9-week reading plan that explores the stories of 44 women in the Bible. By reading about the women in God’s Word, we are becoming Women in the Word—women devoted to meeting Jesus in the pages of Scripture. Here’s an excerpt from the introduction:
Over the next 9 weeks, we’ll encounter courageous heroines and conniving heretics, loyal daughters and deceitful wives, their stories ranging from inspiring and heartwarming to downright disturbing. On the surface we may find ourselves asking, What does this have to do with me?
At that moment, rather than look at ourselves through the lens of these stories, let’s look to our God! Just like you and me, the women we’ll read about in the Old Testament are each part of the Gospel Story, the Story that always and only points back to Jesus. It is the story of God’s faithful pursuit of His people, the story of His steadfast love, and the story of redemption through His Son. Rather than try to be like or unlike the women we read about, we desire only to be more like Christ.
