This is seventh article in a series on holy living we addressed as a part of XChange, a leadership event of conversations with women’s ministry leaders from various generations. (Read parts one, two, three, four, five, and six.)
We posed this question to the leaders: What are the needs of the sexually broken women in your church and community, and how can we address those needs? Here are the responses:
- We must show grace and love as well as acceptance by our actions.
- We must make sure we address the underlying heart issues of sexual brokenness in a woman’s life.
- We must present the knowledge of hope, forgiveness, and restoration.
- We must help women rebound, reminding them often that they can do it through Christ and His strength.
- We must address the stigma regarding sexual brokenness that sometimes exists in churches, so we can involve others in ministering to sexually broken women in our communities.
If we do not deal with this in the church, where are women going to get answers? Will it be the truth based on Scripture? Women want and need to be in groups that allow for questions on sensitive subjects and that provide answers that are practical and true.
How do you address the needs of the sexually broken in your church?
