There’s nothing like going to a Lifeway Women event with your mom or daughter. Seriously—worshiping together, diving into Scripture, laughing (and maybe crying) through the weekend! It’s the kind of thing you’ll both remember forever.
We’ve heard so many sweet stories from women who’ve gone with their moms or daughters—how they connected on a deeper level, had the best conversations, and left feeling closer to each other and to the Lord. Read some of their sweet memories below!
Growing up, I can remember my mom sitting on our couch or in her bed with her Bible and a Lifeway Women Bible study. She loved the tools that Lifeway provides for women to know and love God’s Word. I also remember that she would go on trips with her friends from church to an event for women and I couldn’t wait to go with her one day.
A Lifeway Women event came to our city when I was in high school, and I got to go with my mom to my first women’s event. I loved the teaching, the T-shirts, the worship—and experiencing it alongside my mom was such a special experience. After the event, we were able to go to lunch together and talk about what we’d learned. It gave us a common language and a shared memory that we’d talk about over the years.
After college, I had the opportunity to intern with the Lifeway Women Events team, which led to a job traveling to work at live events. Going Beyond Live went to my hometown, so of course I invited my mom to come with me. During Priscilla’s events, there is a time for corporate prayer where she invites women to express their needs and other women can surround them in prayer. I walked around the arena, praying for women I saw standing and asking for prayer, when I heard Priscilla talk about a specific prayer need that I had. As I looked around to find someone else to pray for, I saw my mom, walking across the arena floor, coming to pray for me. It was such a powerful moment that I will never forget.
These live events allow women to meet with God, right where you are, and to do that with the women beside you. When that woman is your mom, or your daughter, it creates a beautiful, shared experience where you both encounter God personally, and you have gift to see Him work in each other’s lives.
If you’ve never done something like this together, 2025 might be your year. Grab your mom (or your daughter!) and pick an event to look forward to. This Mother’s Day, choose an experience that will make a lasting impact for you both!
