Most people who know me have figured out that I’m a fan of peanut M&Ms. If I’m stressed about an impending deadline or upcoming event, the best remedy I’ve found is the comfort of a “share-size” bag—even if I don’t plan to share them.
In recent days, I’ve learned how to share another favorite M&M in my life. Mary Margaret (MM) Collingsworth has served Lifeway Women as a Project Event Coordinator for five years and has been the rock and glue in the midst of my transition to Lifeway. For the past year, I’ve had the privilege of working up close and personal with this fun, talented, and extroverted co-worker. On October 1, she officially assumed the role of Girls Ministry Specialist for Lifeway, which means I’m learning to share her in a new way. I couldn’t be more thrilled.
In her new role, Mary Margaret will be equipping Girls Ministry leaders in the local church. She’ll be looking for ways to help the next generation learn how to follow Christ and find their identity in Him. In many ways, she’s preparing these “little women” for the future. She’ll also be helping moms navigate the tumultuous teen years, giving them biblical encouragement and practical resources.
Mary Margaret will continue to host the {MARKED} podcast for Lifeway Women. Over the next month she will continue to help me through this transition, guiding our upcoming Women’s Forum and last You Lead event in Toronto. She’s also in the midst of planning her upcoming wedding!
Savannah Ivey is stepping into Mary Margaret’s former position, and she is such a perfect fit for this assignment. Savannah first came to Lifeway as a college intern and is already familiar with our events. She is no stranger to our team, and I’m looking forward to the future with this smart young woman. If you’re coming to the Women’s Forum in November, you’ll get the opportunity to meet her and fall in love with her.
Would you do me a huge favor and pray for both Mary Margaret and Savannah? We are all excited to continue serving you and equipping you for God’s purpose and passion in your life!
