Hello! We are so excited to welcome you to session 1 of The Armor of God online Bible study! You are part of the thousands of people studying from around the world. We can’t wait to see how God uses such a mighty army!
We’ll have some instructions here. Please read carefully because we’ve tried to anticipate your questions!
Here’s how this will work
Each week, you’ll come here and watch the video with Priscilla Shirer. Each video will last about 10 minutes (give or take a few). Once you watch the video, we have some questions for you to answer in your group, or in the comments section of the post (or both!). We want this to be available to those studying together and those going solo. Some of the questions will ask you to get to know your fellow Bible study participants and we hope these interactions will be both challenging and encouraging. After the video, we will let you know the homework assignment for the next week. You can do the homework in theThe Armor of God Bible Study Book. That’s it! The study will be seven weeks long (including this little introduction week).
If you can’t participate right now, or if you miss a week, don’t worry. We will leave these posts up for you to do when you’re ready! You can find all the older ones using our Online Bible Studies tab at the top of the blog. Just click on it and then choose The Armor of God study.
A note about the videos
The Armor of God is a video-based Bible study, so there are videos available when you purchase a Leader Kit from Lifeway.com. Individual-use videos are also available to purchase for download from here. The videos for purchase are not the same as the free videos available here on the blog. The videos for purchase are longer (around 40 minutes each) and dive deeper into the topic of each session. These videos go with the viewer guides in the Bible study book (pgs. 8-9, for example). If you just want the answers to the viewer guides, you can download them here. We recommend them if you want to hear more of Priscilla’s teaching and learn even more about the armor of God.
We have over 30,000 people participating in this study! That is fantastic and we are so excited to learn alongside you! However, this does mean that it may take some time for us to answer your questions and reply to your comments. Please be patient with us. Also, you probably do not want to check the box under your comment that says, “Notify me of new comments by email.” You’ll get thousands of emails! Just check back here to see if someone has replied. 🙂
