Today we honor those who lost their lives serving in the U.S. military. We recall their ultimate sacrifice for the cause of freedom. Perhaps you have loved ones who gave their lives in battle. We pray you are comforted as you remember their influence in your life today.
What do you want to be remembered for? I love the story in Joshua 4:1-8 of the memorial stones God instructed the twelve tribes to place beside the Jordan to remind future generations of God’s provision and protection for the Israelite nation. May we, as Christ followers, continue to lay down memorial stones of faith, stories of God’s intervention and provision in our own lives, so that future generations will know our faithful God!
Today we celebrate the efforts of our military to keep our nation free. We also have freedom eternally when we follow Christ. When I consider Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for our eternal freedom, I realize I’ve sacrificed so little in comparison. But I am SO grateful for our freedom in the U.S. and freedom eternally in heaven.
Have a wonderful day with family as you remember your loved ones who fought and died through the military efforts of our country.
